I Only Went For The Package(Famous Last Words)

So girls, let me start with the part that still makes me laugh a little, because if I don’t laugh I might actually scream.

You know how some neighbors are just… there? The man in 4B had been collecting my packages for weeks. Every time the delivery guy mixed up the floors, he would either bring the box down himself or leave it outside my door with a neat little note in clean handwriting. Tall. Quiet. Always opened the door half-dressed for some reason. Bare chest. Sweatpants. That calm face that never gave anything away. I used to text you about it. “The 4B special is at it again.” We laughed. Harmless building crush. Nothing serious. Just a funny little thing that made the walk up the stairs more interesting.

Yesterday another box of mine ended up at his place. I had just finished showering. Hair still dripping. Old shorts. No bra. Zero makeup. I was in the worst possible state to see anyone, but I wanted the package and I was too lazy to change. I went up, knocked once, already smiling at how awkward it was about to be.

He opened the door. Same sweatpants. Same bare chest. Same unreadable expression. The package was in his hand.

He looked at me for a second longer than usual and said, “Come in for a minute. I want to show you something.

I walked in still smiling, already writing the story in my head for you. I was going to make it funny. The half-naked neighbor. The ugly shorts. The damp hair. Classic Nanjala chaos.

He closed the door behind me. The click sounded louder than it should have. He walked over to the table, picked up his phone, unlocked it, and turned the screen toward me like he was showing me a meme.

It was not a meme.

It was a video of me.

From the night with Daniel’s friend. Dim lighting, but my face was clear. My voice was clear. The way I sounded when I came was clear. I watched three full seconds of myself before my brain caught up.

I stopped smiling.

He did not rush. He simply scrolled to the next one. Another angle. Then a photo. Then a screenshot of the exact 2 a.m. messages I had sent while I was touching myself on command. Every word. Every confession. Every “I’m still wet.”

My voice came out small. “How do you have these?”

He set the phone down on the table between us. Gentle. Almost careful.

“Because the man who fucked you that night is my brother,” he said. Voice calm, like he was telling me the time. “And the soft one who keeps taking you for coffee and holding your hand… that is my cousin. They have been sharing everything. Videos. Screenshots. Details. Making bets on how long you would last before you broke.”

The room felt like it had lost air. I could hear my own pulse in my ears. My legs felt unsteady. I took one step back and he did not follow. He just watched me.

“They don’t know I told you yet,” he continued. “I wanted you to hear it from me first. And I wanted to give you a real choice.”

He picked up my package and held it out toward me.

“You can take this, walk downstairs, and pretend none of this ever happened. Delete the numbers. Block them. Act normal. Or…” He tilted his head slightly. “You can stay. And let me show you what the third one in the family does when he is not just watching from the sidelines.”

I did not take the package.

I did not reach for the door.

I just stood there in my damp hair and ugly shorts, staring at a man who had seen every filthy secret I thought was private, while my body refused to move.

And the part that still keeps me up is this: for one long, shameful second, I actually considered staying.
